COSMO-SkyMed Expandability at work: French Center and Commercial User Terminals ready to operate

2010
COSMO-SkyMed System has been designed to embody in its architectural and operational concepts key aspects like flexibility, modularity, expandability and interoperability towards heterogeneous systems, to efficiently cope with high demanding user needs, with “standardized” operational approaches, with “added-valueproducts, and to match budget constraints and limitations. The interoperability, expandability and multisensoriality (IEM) characteristics of COSMO-SkyMed Ground Segment outlined above have been the keys for ASI and It-MoD for starting international cooperation programs, aiming to provide end-users with “added-valueproducts and services, and commercial world-wide distribution of COSMO-SkyMed data and services. In such context, two significant examples of real COSMO-SkyMed expansion are the French Defence User Ground Segment (FDUGS) and the Portable User Terminals (TUP).
