Activity of Home-made Pefioxacin M.Leprae In Mice and Its Preliminary Effecto in the Treatment of Multibaciilary Leprosy

This paper report, the effects of home-made pefloxacin (PFLO) in the treatment of leprosy. The result showed that the growth delay of M.leprae in foot pads of infected mice after treatment with PFLO 150mg /kg daily for 80 days was 138 days with the bactericidal rate of 97.08%, Twelve previously untreWed multibacillary patients received orally PFLO 800mg/day for 6months.
