Octahedra as models of oscillating and bouncing drops

By modeling a drop as an octahedron whose vertices are connected by springs, a simple, efficient, physically accurate description of drop dynamics is presented. This model is applied to drops oscillating freely and to drops bouncing on solid or liquid surfaces.
