High-Tc phase stabilization in BiCaSrCuO systems by lead doping

Abstract Two series of superconducting samples of compositions Bi 2 − x Pb x Ca 1.5 -Sr 1.5 Cu 2 O z and Bi 1 − x Pb x CaSrCu 2 O y ( x = 0.1 − 1.0), with a single superconducting transition at 110 K for x = 0.6 and x = 0.2 respectively, were synthesized. Electrical, magnetic, structural and spectroscopic properties as a function of lead content and thermal treatment are presented.
