High-Performance Analysis of Shielding Current Density in High-Temperature Superconducting Film

(Received 8 December 2009/Accepted 1 March 2010)A high-performance method has been proposed for calculating the shielding current density in a high-temperature superconducting thin film. After spatially discretized, the initial-boundary-value problem of theshielding current density is reduced to a system of first-order ordinary differential equations that has a strongnonlinearity. However, the system cannot be always solved by means of the Runge-Kutta method even whenan adaptive step-size control algorithm is incorporated to the method.
