Titanium mesh reconstruction of the spine of the anterior decompression and treatment of thoracolumbar burst fracture

2012
Objective To investigate the anterior decompression, titanium mesh reconstruction of the spine and internal fixation of thoracolumbar burst fracture surgery and its clinical efficacy. Methods Due to thoracolumbar burst fractures admitted with anterior decompression with titanium mesh reconstruction of the spine treated 32 patients with surgical methods, efficacy, and follow-up records and clinical data retrospectively analyzed. Results 32 patients were successfully completed surgery, titanium mesh and bone graft reconstruction of the spine.Patients with fusion segments of the average crown angle of 5.0°,the correction rate of 92%.X-rays and CT scans of patients after surgery, spinal decompression is very thorough, the vertebral reset very good. The patients followed up for 10 to 15 months, during the follow-up period, two cases of patients with titanium mesh implant slightly loose and shift, but no specific clinical manifestations in patients with the remaining patients have reached the bone the effect of integration to restore neurological function in varying degrees. Conclusion The thoracolumbar burst fractures with anterior decompression with titanium mesh reconstruction of spinal treatment can be a good recovery in patients with normal physiological structure of the spine, reconstruction of spinal stability, the recovery of neurological function in patients with more significant effect, safe and reliable surgery has a strong clinical value.
