Idiosincrasia a la quinidina

Quinidine is a widely used antiarrhythmic drug in the cronic treatment of arrhythmias, especially in the atrial forms. Though its secondary effects may occur in 30 % of patients, the quinidine syncope only occur in 1-8 %. Nevertheless, about this last complication specific publications concerning the matter have not been found in the revised bibliography of the last years. Forthepurposeofacasewhich presented a quinidine idiosyncrasy with serious complications (syncope, torsade de pointes, cardiogenic shock, acute respiratory failure, nitroprusside resistance), a summary of secondary effects, quinidine interactions, intoxication's prevention, and treatment is done.
