This study aims to investigate the profile, formation and knowledge about interdisciplinarity, nanoscience and nanotechnology among educators who are working in the Integrated Seminars subject at a high school. That subject is an articulating axis interdisciplinarity in high school as the curriculum reform promoted by the Rio Grande do Sul State Education Department suggested in 2012. In order to develop this study, some semistructured interviews were applied to 21 public school teachers of the subject mentioned in a specific school in Santa Maria, RS. The data analysis shows that there is an increasing appropriation of knowledge in their interdisciplinarity among the interviewed, however, concerning the concepts and applications of nanoscience and nanotechnology the knowledge is restricted, which influences negatively on an interdisciplinary approach that needs to contextualize the current technological advances as well as teaching practice. It becomes evident the need to help educators regarding this topic of such significance to society.
