Reflection of a ring shock wave from a rigid wall

1994
A new type of an implosion has been observed experimentally and simulated in a numerical calculation: the formation of a quasi-spherical converging shock wave after the reflection of a ring shock wave from a solid wall. The conversion of the ring shock wave into the quasi-spherical converging shock wave intensifies the local implosion properties.
