Objectives Comprehensive and accurate understanding of Rongcheng District Jieyang City residents iodized salt consumption,the assessment Rongcheng District Jieyang City to monitor the results of household iodized salt,iodized salt to detect problems in management,in order to further promote the sustainable elimination of iodine deficiency disorders to provide a scientific basis.Methods According to the "National Monitoring Program of Iodine Deficiency Disorders"(for trial implementation),each year at Rongcheng District Jieyang City in accordance with east,south,west,north,and center the five position in the nine samples taken from the township(street) 36 villages(neighborhood committees) have 288 residents or more salt-like,in accordance with the GB/T13025.7-1999 provides direct quantitative determination of titration.Results In 2004-2008 a total of 1812 to monitor the residents of salt,of which 1642 were qualified iodized salt,iodized salt 33 failed,137 non-iodized salt,iodized salt coverage,the passing rate of iodized salt and iodized salt consumption rates were qualified for the 92.44 %,98.03 % and 90.62 %.Conclusions Rongcheng District Jieyang City residents overall household consumption of iodized salt is better,aim to achieve the elimination of iodine deficiency disorders,but questions the impact of non-iodized salt in some areas still need to be strengthened supervision and monitoring,strengthening of health education to ensure that the various measures long-term implementation
