Association between periodontitis, periodontopathogens and preterm birth: is it real?

Purpose To identify the association between periodontitis and periodontal pathogens with preterm birth despite the strict control of some important confounders, such as infectious processes and criteria for diagnosis of periodontitis during pregnancy.
