Progress of Polyploidy Induction by Colchicine in Campanula medium L.

[Objective] To explore the optimum method of polyploidy induction by colchicine in Campanula medium L.[Method] The mature seeds of Campanula medium L.were used as materials,and the effects of colchicine concentration,treatment time and methods on the polyploidy induction ratios were studied.[Result] The results showed that the optimum method of polyploid induction was soaking seeds in 0.2% colchicum for 16 h,and the highest induction ratio was about 16.0%.[Conclusion] The adequate treatment concentration and duration can significantly enhance the mutational rate of Campanula medium L.
