The invention relates to a sulfydryl modified SBA-15 molecular sieve as well as preparation and use methods thereof, belonging to the technical fields of inorganic functional materials and fine chemicals manufacture as well as environmental protection. In the prior art, the adopted molecular sieve has small pore diameter, small specific surface area and lower adsorption rate on heavy metal ions. In the molecular sieve provided by the invention, sulfydryls are distributed on the inner surfaces of the pores of the SBA-15 molecular sieve. The preparation method comprises the steps of: preparing ethanol water of a sulfydryl modifier, wherein the volume concentration of the ethanol water is 50-60%; adding the SBA-15 molecular sieve into the prepared ethanol water of the sulfydryl modifier; and stirring for 36-48h at normal temperature to obtain a sulfydryl modified SBA-15 molecular sieve product. The use method comprises the steps of: adding the sulfydryl modified SBA-15 molecular sieve into a water body with the pH value of 1-6 at the temperature of 20-40 DEG C, and adsorbing the heavy metal ions in the water body with the adsorption time of 20-60min; and then immersing the sulfydryl modified SBA-15 molecular sieve adsorbed with the heavy metal ions into acid for desorption. The sulfydryl modified SBA-15 molecular sieve is used for adsorbing Pb and Hg in the water body.
