International AIDS grantmaking. Report.

Worldwide actions have been initiated to provide treatment and care for the people infected with HIV/AIDS. Some researchers are searching for a preventative vaccine some are striving to protect those whose human rights may be compromised while program operators are working to devise barriers to the spread of HIV/AIDS. This report reviews the existing state of resources deployed in the developing world to combat the pandemic spread of the HIV. It shows where by whom and for what purpose resources are being deployed to fight HIV/AIDS and what gaps should command attention. A description of the landscape of major AIDS funders including international agencies governments private foundations charitable trusts corporations and religious organizations is also presented. The intent is to provide a knowledge baseline that may be used to inform and encourage future grantmaking for HIV/AIDS projects in the developing world.
