Instituto de Veterinaria, Universidade Federal Rural do Rio de Janeiro, BR 465, Km 7, Seropedica, RJ 23897-970, Brasil. E-mail: radiovet@ufrrj.br The uveal tract is represented by the iris, ciliary body and choroid. Uveitis is a syndrome common in dogs, affecting the uveal tract. The possible consequences of uveitis include cataracts, synechiae formation, corneal vascularization, panoftalmitis, iris atrophy, lens luxation, phthisis bulbi, rubeosis Iridian iris “bomb”, glaucoma and retinal detachment. The eye is an ultrasound examination that allows the reliable anatomical study of the eye. The sonographic examination of the vitreous opacities is variable in size and shape and retinal detachment appear in “seagull sign”. Mass lesions of the eye are the result of cancer, inflammation, infection and bleeding. The main goals of treatment for uveitis is the removal of any underlying cause, control inflammation and pain relief. The present work it is the story of a female dog with a history of swelling and loss of vision in his left eye. Due to the changes observed on physical examination was suspected neoplasm of the ciliary body and iris. Ocular ultrassonography was requested where there was an increase of the axial length of the eyeball and the vitreous chamber in the presence of image “in seagull” indicating retinal detachment. It also became evident cranial to the retina, the presence of hyperechoic mass with irregular outlines and heterogeneous parenchyma suggesting malignancy, it was not possible to rule out the possibility that it is of clot formation. Because of worsening clinical and sonographic changes we chose enucleation. On macroscopic cut the eyeball revealed a dark mass occupying the entire space inside the eye, the retina was detached and apparently dislocated lens. The histological section revealed a hemorrhagic throughout the intra-ocular anterior synechia had a fibrovascular membrane and pre-iridal. There was no neoplastic process was considered the diagnosis of anterior uveitis accompanied by intraocular bleeding process.
