Type specimens of some Palaearctic Pentatomomorpha described by E. Wagner (Heteroptera: Rhopalidae, Cydnidae, Scutelleridae and Pentatomidae)
2005
In the forthcoming fifth volume of the Catalogue of the Heteroptera of the Palaearctic Region, information about type material of Coreoidea and Pentatomoidea is included in detail. Dr E. Wagner described a large number of species, subspecies and varieties, but in his descriptions in many cases he did not designate a holotype or only indicated the depository of the holotype/holotypus (type/typus) without a clue to sex and/or type locality. As a rule, however, Wagner correctly labelled the type specimens of the species he described. Holotypes of taxa described by Wagner and kept at the Zoologisches Museum in Hamburg (ZMUH) are listed, as are two holotypes kept at the Naturhistorisches Museum in Wien (NHMW). Lectotypes are designated for 10 nominal species-group taxa. Abbreviations used: HT: holotype; LT: lectotype; STS: syntypes. Abbreviations for countries are those used in the Catalogue of Palaearctic Heteroptera.
