Studies on the Cell Suspension Culture of Cistanche Deserticola in the Absence of Exogenous Hormones

Cell suspension culture of Cistanche deserticola in medium which was designed in absence of exogenous hormones was investigated,the cell growth and the accumulation of secondary metabolites which are phenylethanoid glycosides,total flavones,polysaccharide were also studied.The results showed that the cell growth and the synthesis of secondary metabolites in medium without addition of exogenous hormones were similar to the normal culture in addition of exogenous hormones KT and IAA.The cells could grow fast and the secondary metabolites were produced still.It showed that the cell growth and the accumulation of the secondary metabolites could be independent of the exogenous hormones in medium.The cells of Cistanche deserticola which were obtained in culture medium without exogenous hormones were more safety and edible,and the cost of culture was also decreased.
