In this essay I will cover the relationship between the Terena people and school education, particularly regarding higher education and teacher training. To achieve this purpose, I will address the trajectories of indigenous school education in the Terena region, the first discussions about the issue, its institutionalization processes, the institutions and actors that are involved, as well as the teacher training agencies and their participation in said processes.
