Buckling of the CuO2 planes and the electronic properties of doped La2CuO4 superconductors
1994
Abstract The electronic properties of rare earth (RE) doped La 2−x Sr x CuO 4 (LSCO) depend sensitively on the tilt displacements of the CuO 6 octahedra. In particular, in the low temperature tetragonal (LTT) phase with increasing tilt angle Φ a crossover from a metallic, superconducting to a metallic, non-superconducting phase with probably (local) antiferromagnetic (AF) order is observed. We discuss the influence of the tilt displacements on the electronic properties in the three structural low temperature phases of RE-doped LSCO.
