Evaluation of bioinoculants, organic additives and pesticides against Fusarium oxysporum on chilli
2006
Five bioinoculants viz., Aspergillus niger, Trichoderma harzianum, T. virens, Paecilomyces lilacinus and Pseudomonas fluorescens @ 50 Kg/ha each containing 108 cfu/g culture; five organic additives viz., neem (Azadirachta indica) seed powder @ 100 kg/ha, neem (A. indica) and murraya (Murraya koenigii) leaves powder @ 300 kg/ha each, farm yard manure and mint (Mentha arvensis) manure @ 150 kg/ha each; and two pesticides viz. carbofuran 3 G and topsin-M 75 WP @ 2kg a.i./ha each, were studied for their effect against chilli wilt inciting pathogen Fusarium oxysporum in vitro and under pot conditions. Results revealed that all the treatments significantly inhibited the growth of F. oxysporum in vitro. Under pot conditions, all the treatments also significantly improved the plant fresh and dry weights and reduced the % root infection compared to untreated inoculated control.
