Regime de acumulação e configuração do território no Brasil

2008
In the cyclical background of crisis and recovery of the capitalist economy throughout the 20th century, the creation of a world market presupposed some territorial autonomy of the national States. During intensive accumulation, national spaces tended to present hierarchical urban systems, polarized areas and, frequently, unequal development. With the restructuring of the world economy towards flexible accumulation, some of the regularities started to change. There were consequences concerning economic development and the spatial dynamics of different countries, such as the growing role of networks. The text aims to understand to what extent different accumulation regimes condition different forms of territorial configuration. The analysis adopts the international scenario as background for historical processes in Brazilian spatial development.
