The most appropriate method to evaluate bone structures is bone densitometry. Because of the difficulty of conducting this review, studies have been accomplished in order to optimize the identification of individuals with greater potential risk of having low bone mineral density and using programs and systems of digital images for effective screening. Objective: the aim of this study is to determine radiographic bone density of the mandible, measured in pixel intensity of non-hysterectomized and hysterectomized women aging from 40 to 60 years old.
