Research Progress on Mechanism of Energy Metabolism of Adriamycin-induced Cardiotoxicity

Adriamycin is an antitumor drug,has extensive and powerful antineoplastic character,however,it has been limited to use widely in clinical practice because of its myocardial toxicity.Recently,it has been found that adriamycin disturb the normal energy metabolism in many steps.This article reviewed the most recent advances of the occurrence mechanism about energy metabolism of myocardial toxicity induced by adriamycin from the steps fatty acid β-oxidation,glucose metabolism,mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation,energy transportation and regulation.
