The treatment strategy of ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm and possible prognostic factors

2016
Objective To explore the treatment strategy of ruptured abdominal aortic and analyze the possible prognostic factors. Methods From November 2011 to November 2015, the clinical data of 12 patients with ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm were analysed retrospectively. Four patients requested conservative treatment, while 5 patients received endovascular treatment, and 3 cases underwent traditional open surgery. Rank correlation analysis was used to analyze the prognostic factors of ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm. Results The 30-day mortality was 60.0% (3/5) in the endovascular group, and was 33.33% (1/3) in the open surgery group. Age, renal function, hypotensive shock, and intraoperative blood transfusion were independent prognostic factors, when operation time and treatment options were not related with the patient outcomes. Conclusion Early correct diagnosis and timely appropriate treatment are key to improving the outcomes of patients with ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm, which is characterized by rapid progression and poor prognosis. Key words: Ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm; Treatment strategy; Prognostic factor
