Evaluación del crecimiento en Trichogaster trichopterus (Pallas 1770) (Teleostei: Osphronemidae) con diferentes alimentos

2017
Within the Osphronemidae family there are three-spots guramis (Trichogaster trichopterus, Pallas 1970), which has an Asian origin, is widely distributed and marketed in the central part of Mexico for ornamental purposes. The objective of the present investigation was to evaluate the effect of four diets on the growth of T. trichopterus and based on a cost-benefit analysis determinate the best alternative for maintain the organisms during the period prior to their sale. The experiment consisted in keeping 30 individuals for each diet in 80 L fish tanks fed with 3% of the total biomass, divided into three servings for 90 days with: T1) commercial food for trout “Silver Cup The Pedregal®”; T2) tenebrio larva (Tenebrio molitor); T3) “nixtamal”T4) mixed food (commercial feed + tenebrio larva + “nixtamal”, in equal proportions). To determine the growth, the total length and height (mm) were recorded with the digital vernier “SURTEK®” (± 0.001 mm) and the weight (g) with a digital scale of the brand: “Sartorius talent®” (± 0.1 g) The results show that the organisms fed with T1 had greater increase in length 82.49 ± 4.33 mm and weight with 7.88 ± 1.02 g, with DI (daily increase) of 0.168 mm and 0.034 g, AGR (absolute growth rate) of 15.5 mm and 3.14 g, SGR (specific growth rate) of 0.10 mm and 0.25 g with a CF (condition factor) of 1.43. Regarding the height of the organisms, the T4 showed the greatest increase with an average of 26.40 ± 2.56 mm, AGR of 4.62 mm and SGR of 0.09 mm. The commercial food T1 and T4 were those who showed higher DI, AGR, SGR, CF. However, to optimize and reduce operating costs in the cultivation of T. trichopterus and other ornamental species, the use of “nixtamal” would be a good option for producers.
