Electrophoretic variation of yolk and plasma albumins in the Japanese quail.

Electrophoretic variation of egg yolk albumin was found in a population of the Japanese quail. It was clarified that the variation of the yolk albumin occurred in parallel with that of plasma albumin. Frequencies of the alleles AlbQ1 and AlbQ2, designated after Haley (1965), were estimated to be 0.985 and 0.015, respectively.
