Photosynthesis, transpiration and water use efficiency in four cultivars of mungbean, Vigna radiata (L.) Wilczek.

High net photosynthetic rates (P N ) are usually accompanied by high rates of transpiration (E). Cultivar improvement efforts often seek genotypes wit high yield potentials having high P N but without concomitant increase in E. Similar works on mungbean have not been reported so far. Therefore we evaluated the response to leaf temperature and irradiance of P N and E of four mungbean culivars
