BREW Implementation of a Mobile Phone-based Monitor for Women's Healthcare

2007
Implementation of a mobile phone-based monitor for women's healthcare is described in this paper. The implementation was realized in the BREW programming language, and used a KDDI mobile phone and a tiny wearable body temperature sensor. The temperature inside clothing during sleep is measured continuously and automatically by a wearable temperature sensor device. The temperature data are accumulated and transmitted a specific database server via mobile phone. The BREW application acquires the data and supplies health care information, such as a one-night temperature profile animation review for sleep quality evaluation. Menstrual cycle stage estimation and a diary for personal health management were developed and implemented. These implementations enhanced the usability and functionality of the women's healthcare monitor and provided many advantages to the management system.
