Recent advances of donor-acceptor type carbazole-based molecules for light emitting applications

2019
Abstract This review focuses on different structures of molecules containing carbazole units with particular emphasis on donor-acceptor (D-A) type materials. The review also includes carbazole-based materials with bipolar charge transport properties. Different aspects of carbazole properties and their use in light-emitting applications are described. The properties of the carbazole-based molecules and their performance in organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) are summarized. The article is divided according to the role of their respective carbazole unit. Carbazole-based compounds with D-A structure are particularly important materials in TADF applications and host material in phosphorescence OLEDs.
