Visuddhimagga of Buddhaghosacariya

by the well-known fourth century stalwart Buddhaghosa who has in this work faithfully preserved ancient Buddhist traditions and who "enjoys a well-merited reputation among the Buddhist of Ceylon, Burma and siam". The present edition is based chiefly on four manuscripts belonging respectively to the library of King Thebaut of Burma, Henry Rigg, Prof. T.W. Rhys-Davids and Reverend Dr. Richard Morris.
