Analysis of interventional bronchoscopy treatment of primary tracheobronchial amyloidosis 12 cases

2019
Objective To explore the interventional treatment of primary tracheobronchial amyloidosis. Methods Data of 12 patients with primary tracheobronchial amyloidosis were collected and analyzed, including clinical manifestations, imaging manifestations, bronchoscopic manifestations and interventional therapy. Results The symptoms of 12 patients were relieved after bronchoscopic interventional therapy, and the score of shortness of breath decreased from (3.3±1.1) to (1.2±0.5)(t=6.25, P<0.05). The most common complication was hemoptysis during the intervention. Two cases with massive hemoptysis were treated by endotracheal intubation and mechanical ventilation.Bronchial artery embolization was performed in one patient due to massive hemoptysis.one case needed blood transfusion. Conclusions Primary tracheobronchial amyloidosis can be treated by bronchoscopy, but the risk of bleeding should be noted. Key words: Bronchoscopy; Amyloidosis
