2014
An alternative evaluation system for teaching and learning in the practical part of the course of medical embryology It was designed and applied an instrument to evaluate qualitatively and quantitatively practice activity in five stages, for each of the students who attend the curricular unit “Medical Embryology, Department of Morphological Sciences, Faculty of Medicine. The instrument measured skills, motor skills, performance and attitudes towards the subject of study. The activity performed by each student we allowed to infer their ability to observe, explore, analyze, synthesize, compare and discriminate on various aspects of medical embryology and to transfer learning in order to find solutions to practical problems. The pilot test the instrument test was conducted on a group of 30 students during the 2011-2012 school years, the following year the same test was applied in another group with 24 students. Factor analysis revealed two components: The first related embryology sheets, diagrams, models and radiographs; and the second formed by exposure and pictures of fetuses. The Cronbach’s alpha for five stations was 0.19, removing station 1, it amounted to 0.30, moderately reliable. The results showed improvements in skills and development of attitudes of students in the practical examination.
