DIBENZOYLSILANES AND SUBSTITUTED BENZOYLSILANES

1963
A number of silicon-substituted benzoylsilanes have been prepared. These all showed identical carbonyl infrared stretching wavelengths, and were all yellow, having essentially identical ultraviolet absorption spectra. Hence it is concluded that the spectral properties of benzoylsilanes are insensitive to the nature of the groups attached to silicon, even when these could provide dπ−pπ bonding.
