Characterization of the complete chloroplast genome of Eulophia zollingeri , an endangered orchid in China

2018
Eulophia zollingeri (Orchidaceae) is a vulnerable plant in China. In this study, the complete chloroplast genome of E. zollingeri is assembled based on high-throughput sequencing data for the first time. The complete chloroplast of E. zollingeri is 145,201 bp in length, containing a large single copy (LSC) of 81,566 bp, a small single copy of 13,091 bp and a pair of inverted repeats of 25,272 bp. The overall GC content of the genome is 37.1%. The cp genome contains 86 protein-coding genes, 38 tRNA genes, and 8 rRNA genes. The phylogenetic analysis based on chloroplast genomes indicates that E. zollingeri is closely related to the orchid within the Epidendroideae subfamily.
