The Standardization of the Higher Engineering Education in Ukraine in the Light of American and European Experience

The paper deals with the analysis of the implementation of standardization of higher education in electrical engineering in Ukraine on the basis of the competence approach, the resulting paradigm and the concept of measurable quality in education. The difficulties in the transition to a new methodology of educational standardization and appropriate accreditation based on the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area are marked out. The introduction of the bachelor standard in the speciality “Electrical energetics, electrical engineering and electromechanics” in the national, regional and institutional scales is considered in detail. Appropriate recommendations for improving the standardization of higher education are formulated.
