Broadband gain flattened Raman amplifier to extend operation in the third telecommunication window

We report the gain flattening of dual stage dual wavelength pumped fibre Raman amplifiers flattening the gain using long period fibre grating and a first order interferometric filter. A flattened gain of 60 nm and an average gain of 15.9 dB were achieved.
