Sarcoidosis of the tongue: Report of a case

1966
Abstract The foregoing case clearly demonstrates that sarcoidosis is often diagnosed by exclusion of tuberculosis, syphilis, mycosis, leprosy, and amyloidosis. A biopsy should always be performed. The presence of giant-cell inclusions, such as asteroid and Schaumann bodies, although not diagnostic, is suggestive of sarcoid and may suggest viral etiology.
