Blood Cross Flow Filtration Through Artificial Membranes

1995
Membrane separation is used in various stages of blood purification. The best known application is hemodialysis used for the treatment of end-stage renal failure (1, 2). In this process, uremic toxins are removed by diffusion through a semi-permeable membrane which separates the circulating blood from an ionic solution, the dialysate.
