Significance of thinprep cytologic test in screening cervical lesions

Objective To explore the significance of thinprep cytologic test(TCT) in screening cervical lesions.Methods 2 001 cases were detected by TCT and analyzed by the Bethesda system(TBS).The positive cases with cytologic diagnosis were taken examination of cervical biopsy under guidance of colposcope.The coincidence rates were compared between TCT examination and pathological results.Results The results of TCT showed that there were 1 809 cases(90.40%) with no lesion cells and 192 cases(9.60%) with positive cells.The positive cases with biopsy of colposcope were 139(7.00%).There was no difference between two methods in the diagnostic positive rate(χ2=0.1637,P0.05).The coincidence rates of ASCUS,LSIL,HSIL and SCC were 76.9%,73.2%,85.7% and 100%.Conclusion In screeing cervical lesions the sensitivity and accuracy of TCT and TBS are high.It can be applied in screening cervical lesions.
