The method of preparing a quaternary ammonium salt surface-modified polystyrene microspheres monodisperse emulsion

2014
The present invention relates to a method of preparing a quaternary ammonium salt surface-modified polystyrene microspheres monodisperse emulsion. The present invention is by introducing a hydrophilic functional monomer, the styrene to water and to change the feed ratio of the quaternary ammonium salt surface-modified polystyrene microspheres monodisperse emulsion achieve effective control of monodisperse polystyrene microspheres. The present invention is styrene as the main monomer, dimethyldiallylammonium chloride as the functional monomer, a third monomer is methyl methacrylate, potassium persulfate or ammonium persulfate as the initiator, the reaction water media, soap-free emulsion polymerization method for preparing the surface of polystyrene microspheres quaternary enriched by a semi-continuous manner. The present invention is not added any surfactant in the production process, the organic solvent and inorganic salts, preparation process is simple, low cost, monodispersed polystyrene microspheres of the resulting surface-modified quaternary ammonium salts by adjusting the initiator and the ratio between the amounts of the three monomers, flexible regulation between 150nm ~ 600nm.
