Soybean(Glycine max)storage proteins werecharacterized bysedimentation andbypolyacrylamide gelelectrophoresis underdissociating (8M urea)andnondissociating conditions. Threesedimenting classes ofproteins werefound,withsedimentation coefficients of2.2S,7.5S,and11.8S.The coefficients wererelated tothebandsobtained byelectrophoretic separation. The results supporttheideathatrelatively few proteins makeupthebulkoftheseedprotein.
