Photo-physical properties of the transition metal ions complexes of the calix[4]arene derivatives
2001
Abstract The complexing properties of the calix[4]arene having two anthracene moieties at the upper rim toward transition metal ions and their photo-physical properties have been studied. The presence of a Schiff Base unit allows the chelation of transition metal cations such as Cu 2+ , Co 3+ , which leads to a weakening of the charge transfer process in the absorption spectrum and to an enhancement of the fluorescence of the anthracene moiety.
