Phase Transitions in Rb2CdBr4

Crystals of Rb2CdBr4 was grown by Bridgman method and differential thermal analysis and dielectric constant measurements were performed to investigate phase transitional properties. It was found that Rb2CdBr4 has the first order phase transition around 485K on heating. The similarity of the phase transitions to other crystals of Tl2ZnI4 group was discussed.
