Effects of Serum Containing Jiangu Granules on Expression of OPG and RANKL mRNA in Osteoblast-like Cells

Objective To observe the effects of serum containing Jiangu granules on expression of OPG and RANKL mRNA in osteoblast-like cells.Methods ROS17/2.8 cells were cultured in vitro and treated with serum containing Jiangu granules or serum containing normal saline for 48 hours,and the cell proliferation was detected by MTT assay and the expression levels of OPG and RANKL mRNA were detected by real-time fluorescence quantitative RT-PCR assay.Results The expression level of OPG mRNA in Chinese medicine group was higher than that of normal saline group(P0.05),while the expression level of RANKL mRNA was lower than that of normal saline group(P0.05).Conclusion Serum containing Jiangu granules can promote the expression of OPG mRNA and inhibit the expression of RANKL mRNA.
