Correlation of serum level of IAP with the number of CD4~+ CD25~+ cells in peripheral blood in the patients with pancreatic cancer

2009
Objective To discuss the relationship and clinical significance between the serum level of immunosuppressive acidic protein (IAP) and CD4+ CD25+ cells in peripheral blood in the patients with pancreatic cancer. Methods The contents of serum IAP and the population of CD4+ CD25 + cells in peripheral blood in 55 patients with pancreatic cancer were detected respectively by ELISA and flow cytometry, the results were compared with that of pancreatic benign diseases group and health controls. The correlation of serum level of IAP with CD4+ CD25+ cells in peripheral blood was studyed. Results The contents of serum IAP and the population of CD4 + CD25+ cells in peripheral blood in the patients with pancreatic cancer were significantly higher than that of pancreatic benign diseases group and health control group(P0.05).There was significant correlation between the contents of serum IAP and the population of CD4+ CD25+ cells with tumor size, distant metastasis and clinicopathological stage (P0.05). The population of CD4+ CD25+ cells was positively correlated with IAP level in patients (P0.05). Conclusion The contents of serum IAP and the population of CD4+ CD25+ cells in peripheral blood are closely related to tumor invasion, metastasis and clinical stage (TNM). The increase of the population of CD4+ CD25+ cells in patients may induce the increase of serum level of IAP.
