Comparative Investigations of Cobalt–Carbon Eutectic High-Temperature Fixed Point Cells Constructed at the VNIIM and VNIIOFI

2013
Cells based on the cobalt-carbon eutectic high-temperature fixed point (1324°C), for use in radiation thermometry, have been developed and manufactured. The cells are compared to determine a possible difference in the melting points. Brightness-type radiation thermometers with a narrow spectral sensitivity band in the region of the wavelength of 650 nm are used to measure the fixed-point temperature. Details of the comparisons and preliminary results are given, which demonstrate that the temperatures of the cells compared are identical to within 20 mK.
