A Term Abdominal Pregnancy

SummaryA 36 year old infertile primigravid lady had a laparotomy at 39 weeks and was found to have an abdominal term pregnancy. A live female baby was delivered safely. The placenta was left in situ. The mother was followed up for 3 months after delivery and observations were made on her clotting function, and on the fate of the placenta, by serial plasma steroid estimations and by serial ultrasonic scans.
