Structure-curing relation for polyamic acids

Abstract Solid-phase thermal imidization (curing) of polyamic acids based on pyromellitic dianhydride and 1, n -bis(4-aminophenoxy)alkanes or 4,4′-diaminodiphenylmethane was monitored by infrared spectroscopy under isothermal conditions at 130 °C and 145 °C. The calculated kinetic parameters are discussed in relation to the chemical structure of polyamic acids employed and the reaction conditions of imidization.
