3D spatial quantitative analysis of alteration in Yaojialing zinc-gold polymetallic deposit

2016
Yaojialing zinc-gold polymetallic deposit is a newly discovered large zinc-gold deposit in Tongling ore district, the Middle-Lower Reaches of Yangtze River metallogenic belt in recent years. Because of the multi-phase mineralization in Yaojialing zincgold polymetallic deposit, the alteration is strongly and complicated. Three dimensional geological information technology and spatial analysis methods provide a suit of very useful tools for quantitative analysis of spatial distribution of alteration and their relationship with mineralization. Based on them, this paper quantitatively analyses the characteristics of alteration zones and their relationship with mineralization in Yaojialing zinc-gold polymetallic deposit. Compared with common methods, the distribution pattern of alteration and mineralization can be analyzed very quickly, and meanwhile, the regularity and correlation between different information can also be acquired quantitatively. These methods can not only help to identify the alteration zone and regularity more clearly, but also can provide quantitative data for metallogenic model and exploration model established.
