STUDY OF TECHNIQUES FOR PREVENTING EARLY-STAGE DEFECTS IN CEMENT CONCRETE PAVEMENTS

1998
Proceeding from the contraction deformation of cement concrete materials, the reason for early-stage defects of cement concrete pavements is analyzed in detail, combined with the restricting conditions between the pavements and basecourses of cement concrete pavements. The theoretical basis for preventing cracking is expounded, and corresponding preventing measures are put forward. A new method for preventing cracks is presented i.e. combining compensation contraction with interlayer friction-reducing to prevent cracking. The theoretical basis for prolonging the space between contraction joints to reducing defects is described. 1.3m long test road is paved by using the above techniques, and the results observed show a good effect.
